GCA99 2-Rail current detection
The problem
If you are using a 2-Rail system with current detection you must make sure that all surrounding tracks have the same voltage level as the detection section.
This will trigger an event as soon as the first current drawing wheel set touches the isolated detection track.
In all other cases the event will come only after the whole locomotive is on the isolated track. This may significantly disrupt smooth automatic operation by delaying events.
The solution
Use a dummy detection unit for all surrounding tracks:
Example of how to wire the tracks:
The sensor event will only occur after the locomotive is completely on the sensor track if the dummy is left out.
The Printed circuit
